Harbor View

Daryl and Kandace N.

This property was a very comfortable and spacious apartment for our family visit in Long Beach. The apartment was well stocked with all the necessary conveniences, including a double car garage. We especially enjoyed the balcony views and cozy fireplace in the evenings. The location at the top of the hill was perfect for walks to Lookout Point Park, just above the apartment, where we enjoyed watching a few spectacular sunsets over Catalina Island.

Roya was a gracious host and we hope to stay with her again next time we visit the area.

Owner’s Response:Hi Daryl,

Thank you for choosing this property. We truly value your input and thank you for being such a great guest and keeping everything so neat and clean.

Richard B.

The view was great and very near an amazing park.

Beautiful view, very convenient location for us.

Malcolm S.

Overall very nice and clean.

Would suggest usable nightstands for lower bedroom. Kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed eating meals overlooking the bay.

An okay place for a week.

Owner’s Response:Hi Arlene, It was truly a pleasure having you staying at this property. Thank you so much for going above an beyond in putting everything back and helping our cleaners.

Nice Place, really needs better air conditioning for the summer months

Jeff M.

Very nice condo and very clean. We loved having a garage for the rental car. The reason why I did not give it a higher star rating was because of the air conditioning situation. There is only one portable unit in the upstairs bedroom. At least, during the summer months it is not enough for a comfortable stay. It cools the upper bedroom great. You do have to empty the condensation tray every 3-4 hours or it will shut off. We opened up all the windows and utilized the portable fans and it was still warm in the condo. Now in the area I found out that a lot of the homes near the coast do not have air conditioning. This is something I did not know. If I had to guess during the day the inside was around 80 degrees. We did not stay in the condo during the day because of this. Is does cool off in the evenings, but it does make it a little harder to fall asleep. I know this is a personal preference on the temp. Overall the owners were great to deal with. The condo was nice and clean and the furniture was comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to cook. They had a small welcome basket when we arrived and that was nice. I would consider using this site again, but not during the summer months.

Spectacular view and so much more.

We stayed a whole month and loved every minute of it. Property is somewhat dated, but that made us feel more at ease. It has everything in terms of kitchen appliances, linens, towels, washer, dryer, etc etc. I could go on and on.The place is actually better equipped that our own house back in Norway! We could have packed much lighter than we did…

We bought ourselves an extra single bed so that our boys (17 and 18) could share the roomy downstairs bedroom.

On warm days we open up the place so that we could get a nice ocean breeze throughout. Only thing that would have been nice. A screen door for the balcony.

I cannot say enough nice things about Roya and her husband. Very responsive and professional in every respect before and throughout our entire stay. We felt at ease and settled in from the very beginning of our stay. Now we wished we had stayed longer.

If we are coming back to the Southbay area next summer we would not even consider anywhere else. The place is an easy walk from The Diner on 38th and The Lighthouse Deli and Restaurant on 39th. Two more blocks and you are enjoying the cliffs and oceanside along Pt. Fermin. Great for morning, afternoon or evening walks. Or more strenuous (spelling) activities – if that is preferred…:-).

And finally. We had some friends come over for coffee the day before we were leaving. Their vacation extends another 5 weeks and they were so bumped that they had not booked this place. We might be in competition with our friends next year for this place! 🙂 BR, Lars and family.

Perfect for California Wedding

This was a very nice home. If was in the perfect location for wedding we attended. The Port of Los Angeles was a very interesting view. Also, it was great to hear the National Anthem everyday at 4:30 pm. Would stay here again if we are out that way again.

A beautiful view of the harbor

This is the third time we have spent an extended stay at Roya’s lovely condo. It has a beautiful view of the harbor from the master bedroom and an even more spectacular view from the living room picture windows or balcony. There is a glass table on the balcony. Ideal place for breakfast.

The bedrooms and living room are spacious and there is a well-equipped kitchen with a large refrigerator/freezer. There are plenty of towels and linen and ample closet space with plenty of hangers.

Most rooms could use more lighting and the dishwasher door only opens part-way because of a refrigerator which is obviously larger than the architect planned, but the overall experience is more than worth the price. Roya has always been very accommodating for any special requests. We highly recommend the condo for any length of stay.

Great views nice neighborhood

  •  Stayed in this lovely house was as described in the listing. The rental was nice had a nice spacious car garage with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Had beautiful view of the LA harbor and towards Long Beach area. Seemed quiet and nice area to stay. The porch was great for enjoying the evening and watching the sun set behind you. Harbor was lit up beautifully at night. Close to downtown Long Beach where there are many restaurants and bars for entertainment etc. Would recommend this as a vacation getaway.

We had such a good time. The town house was perfect. There was plenty of extras: towels, toiletries, a gift basket with sweets and treats for the whole family.
The view was spectacular. It was quite and very beautiful. I felt like we were in our own hidden paradise. The manager of the property was only a phone call away. She was very pleasant and accommodating.
I read the other reviews and just wanted to leave a more updated review. There were plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, etc.
But we were here only three days. I don’t know how much extras anyone else needs but I think three days of supplies is plenty of time for anyone else to get familiar with the area and make there purchases to their liking. We will defiantly be back for a week next time!

My husband and I spent a very enjoyable month of Feb. here. Coming from the Midwest, the weather couldn’t be beat. The townhouse was a nice place to stay, and for the monthly rate, the price was wonderful. You don’t get these many accommodations in a hotel room! This was our first experience with VRBO, and will definitely do it again. Roya was very easy to work with, and once we got to Calif., she returned phone calls almost immediately for any questions we might have had.

The master bed was very comfortable, with a walk-in closet large enough to not only hold our clothes, but our unpacked large suitcases. We were able to host a dinner party with relatives for 10 people….big table, plenty of dishes & silverware (much more than what is listed), cooking pots and pans. Roya even accommodated my request for a crockpot! There are a lot of steps here, and that was a little tough hauling in our stuff when we arrived, and grocery shopping. But this is how you get the spectacular view! We did need to move a reading lamp from the bedroom downstairs to living room upstairs so I could read. Dishwasher is older, and we had to rinse dishes well or they didn’t get clean.

San Pedro is an older seaport town, and we enjoyed taking daily walks along the water. Go to Raffaello’s Italian Ristorante .. we went back 3 times, one time taking relatives! Great Thai food is on 25th St. across from Albertson’s. A very nice Farmer’s Market in Torrance every Tuesday & Saturday. We went on Tuesday…Saturdays are very busy.

All in all, we had a wonderful time, and enjoyed our stay very much in this town home.

We stayed at this rental property for 5 days. The location was great and the pictures did reflect the house. I felt there was some misadvertising about the home. It really only sleeps 4 people comfortably. The bed for the 5 and 6th person is a very sorry hide away sofa. The dishwasher is also not useable due to the refrigerator being too large and blocks you from opening the dishwasher enough to be able to put the dishes into it. We also had very limited paper products in the home (toilet Paper, paper towels) which is somewhat petty but necessary. I don’t think I would rent the property again.
Owner response: Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We also feel that the property’s King and Queen beds are more comfortable and convenient than the sofa bed, the air mattress, or the child’s bed. With only two bedrooms available, the sofa bed in the living room was challenging to accommodate. We apologize and understand that toiletries and paper products are of particular importance to guests. Please accept our offer to reimburse you for additional toiletries and paper products. Toiletries, paper towels, and even snacks are provided for one or two nights of stay so guests have time to familiarize themselves with the area and an opportunity to shop for the remainder of their stay. We felt that allowing tenants to purchase their own toiletries and paper products allows the tenant to acquire the brands and quality that best suits their tastes and personal needs. The problem of the refrigerator interfering with the dishwasher is scheduled to be fixed as soon as the plumber has access to the property next week. We apologize for not bringing this to your attention. This new refrigerator is larger than the old one and we have a good design that we know will eliminate the interference. Although interference does make it more inconvenient to load and unload the dishwasher, the dishwasher is, in fact, useable although not for the larger kitchen items.

Great views, spacious and clean, but…..

The condo was very spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable with more than enough pillows. There were plenty of towels and all of very good quality. The dining room was perfect for our needs. The owner was very accessible by phone as we needed to advise her of the leaky roof in the hallway. Two of the three couches in the living room were clean but the cushions were very worn and not very easy to get out of once you were down. The living room was very dark at night as there was only one lamp which provided poor lighting. We had to take a floor lamp from the downstairs bedroom to the living room so we could read, which left the downstairs bedroom darker. We were very grateful for portable heater as it got very cold at night. The sliding glass door to the balcony was extremely hard to operate. We really hope the owner gets this repaired because the balcony is the highlight of this condo. The kitchen was clean with more than enough utensils, plates, pots and pans. The oven and stove top worked well. The garbage disposal not so much. This is a very challenging property if one is not used to climbing up and down very steep hills to walk your dog or take the trash to the trash bin. Thankfully there was a garage but our family had a rough time doing the climbing to get to their cars. The neighborhood was safe and well lit. Two lovely parks are a very short drive away. We needed a large enough space for our family for Thanksgiving and this property was very suitable and comfortable in that regard. If the furniture and lighting in the living room were one notch better I’d have given this condo more stars.

We arrived and were pleasantly surprised by the home. The views were stunning and the rooms were very comfortable. I just wish we had stayed longer. Plenty of dishes and a brand new sponge in the kitchen sink too. I wouldnt bring toddlers as there are a few breakables within hands reach!

This property was great. Alot of ambiance. The photos accurately reflected the property including the amazing view. The property was very clean and maintained. Enjoyed the location because it was right by ocean yet not too far from local attractions. Only complaint was that the owner did not supply amenities (paper towels, trash bags, toilet paper, etc.) and did not indicate that when renting.

The place was really nice. My family just didnt like having air condition or cable tv. I just didnt think to look for that when booking a house because in louisiana that is just expected. well at least for the air.The owner was great to work with and the welcome basket was super nice. Overall I would recommend the house!

This townhouse had the perfect location for wandering around with a grandmother and two kids. We loved the beach, aquarium, parks, and the personality of the plants in San Pedro. Beds in the bedrooms were comfortable. The only caution for those with kids: use the provided child gates, as the stairs are steep and hard. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Very accurate description of the property and the view was beautiful. My daughter was getting married so we used this condo as a getting ready place. We used the view to take some great pics of her and the bridesmaids. The fans did help as it was a bit warm that weekend. Everything was clean and the welcome basket very much appreciated.

I will never forget the spectacular view from this property. We enjoyed many hours sitting on the balcony watching the ships, tugboats, yachts, sailboats, and windsurfers. The location to many interesting sights is great, and the town of San Pedro has a real old neighborhood feel with a variety of ethnic restaurants and a great breakfast place called Omelets and Waffles. The property was clean. Roya keeps it supplied with most staples. An upgrading of sheets, placemats, bedspreads, and candles in the candleholders would be appropriate some point soon and would add to the elegance. Seniors and disabled persons should be aware there are steps to the different floors. The price was very fair. It was an excellent value and we would recommend it. We had an idyllic week.

Our family of 4 felt right at home in the condo. We had everything we needed at the house and the view was fantastic watching the Port of LA and the cargo ships getting loaded for overseas trips back. The community was very nice, and we were close to the places we wanted to see. Lots of food choices are close by and retails shops. Highways to get around LA are a short drive away and overall we would say our visit was a 10. Home owner was in touch during the planning and vacation period and was very professional to work with. You will like staying at this wonderful home

the townhouse is clean, has smart lay out, has everything needed and more and best of all breathtaking scenic vew from the balcony. we had very pleasant, very good stay. san pedro viewed from the townhouse is an eyeopener. the only thing that bothered me was the terrain of the area and walking uphill on one of the streets made me realized and scared of the gravitational pull (first time i had such experience).

As promised, this rental had beautiful views of the harbor. Each morning we would go the balcony to see the harbor and be amazed. The unit was spacious with privacy in the different bedrooms well separated from each other. The kitchen and bathrooms were well supplied. We were near all the attractions of southern California with easy and fast access to the freeways and shopping.
